| The term “Searching Engine Positioning” is self descriptive; you can have a rough idea what I am going to share with you in this article. Yes in the article I am going to discuss some aspects of search engine positioning. When we say having a good position in is must the first question that arrives in the mind is “Why it is important to have good position of our website in the search engines?” So let us get on the topic. |

| Creating a websites and waiting for visitors to visit your site is not the way to get visitors (some may be customers).You will hardly get any. In order to get yourself placed in the competition you should have some special features (good content) and you have to follow some rules so that you will be there in the competition. Search engines for ex: Google, Yahoo, msn etc…all of them have there own criteria for sorting sites and listing them in the search results of the user. |
| Suppose you are in search of some software for website development but don’t know where to start, your search from the first thing you will do is to visit a search engine and go for search for web development software these words are treated as “keywords” by Google, on basis of which Google displays its search results. Google just searches its data base for the sites bearing these keywords as ”web development software”, ”web”, ”development”, ”software” and displays the result in order from the most popular site to least popular one. It is seen that only those sites which are listed on top of the search results are mostly visited by the user and all other sites remain untouched and here comes the role for search engine positioning. |
| Only search engines are not the whole and sole responsible for getting the site in top search results the major part is played by the site itself. Here a simple strategy is followed “more popular the site higher will be its position in search results”. |
| Site popularity it’s another topic which needs discussion and I am going to discuss it in my forthcoming articles till then we will keep it in mind that site is popular if it has following features:- |
1) Large number of visitor’s i.e. high traffic (may be customers or just visitors)
2) Good content and attractive Webpage Designs (site layout and appearance)
3) Minimized (on a single click) |
| All these features will make your site popular among the users and will help you to target large crowd and more the crowd (traffic) more popular is the site. |
| Keywords also play an important role in bringing you in top search results. More specific keywords the visitor uses more are the chances for more specific search results and more are the chances of the site to get listed on high ranks. Proper Keyword Analysis is another big topic for discussion which I will be soon adding it to my articles. |
| This high positioning of a site in certain search results of the user increases the chances of the user to visit your sites and as I have mentioned if there is a visitor searching for website development software and if the site bears all the above listed features then there are more chances of getting that visitor converted into a customer and if got satisfied by the services and quality of product, there are more chances of getting more traffic and customer from him. This will help site to gain popularity and the owner to have some quality business by increasing his number of visitors. (Huge traffic) |
